2017 Alumni Survey

Methodology

The on-line survey was conducted between February 4th and March 12th, 2017. The primary tool for soliciting Alumni participation was Facebook. The NS Alumni FB group had 323 members, and number of respondents (205) represented a response rate of approx. 63%. The total number of NS graduates is 520.

Survey Highlights

Place of Residence

The vast majority of grads (approx, 79%) have returned to live and work in Nunavut. While a considerable number (20%) were living in the South at the time of the survey, a significant proportion of these were there to pursue further post-secondary programs and, with some exceptions, are expected to return to Nunavut to live and to work.

Employment

The vast majority of grads are either employed full-time (62.4%) or enrolled in further education and/or training (19.5%) at the time of the survey. Only 3.9% of NS grads said they were unemployed and looking for work. 

Education

The majority of NS grads (64.5%)  have gone on to further post-secondary education and/or training, with slightly more than half doing so in the South.

  3. Nunavut Sivuniksavut Year II (14.6%)
  4. Carleton University (8.3%)
