Frequently asked questions about the application process

What's the acceptance deadline?

The acceptance deadline is outlined in your acceptance letter.

Can I change my program after I accept?

You can only accept one offer of admission at a time. After you've accepted the offer, you can change your decision and accept a different offer after one business day. This action will cancel the previous acceptance and other colleges will be informed that you chose Nunavut Sivuniksavut College.

What if my offer has expired?

If your offer has expired, you'll have to contact your admissions officer to find out if there are still seats available in the program. If we don't have room in the program, ask to be placed on the waitlist.

Confirmation deadlines

Once accepted, you must confirm your acceptance to college by May 1 or the offer will be withdrawn, unless the offer was made to you after this date.

Travel

After you accept your offer  your travel through FANS for the beginning of September

Orientation

During their first week at NS, students will partake in an unforgettable orientation at a beautiful and rustic cottage called Harris Farm. This week will be filled with ice-breakers, kayaking, hiking, campfires, cooking, and more fun activities. We encourage students to use this time to familiarize themselves with some new faces and learn more about the details of our program. By the time they leave orientation, students will certainly feel refreshed and confident to start their first semester at NS!

Waitlist

A wait list is established when the number of acceptable applicants exceeds the number of spaces available in the program. As space becomes available in the program, confirmed waitlist applicants are moved into the program based on academic strength and the date on which ontariocolleges.ca received the application.
